상관접속사(Both A and B/Not only A but also B/Either A or B/Neither A nor B/Not A but B) 뜻

"상관접속사(Correlative Conjunctions)"는 영어 문법에서 두 개 이상의 단어, 구 또는 절을 연결하여 문장 내에서 대등한 관계를 만드는 접속사의 한 종류입니다. 이들은 대개 쌍으로 사용되며, 연결된 두 요소 사이의 특정한 관계를 나타냅니다. 

 

주요 상관접속사 종류와 예시

1. Both A and B: A와 B 둘 다를 의미합니다.

 예문:

Both the teacher and the students were happy with the results. (교사와 학생 모두 결과에 만족했습니다.)

Both cats and dogs make great pets. (고양이와 개 둘 다 훌륭한 애완동물이 됩니다.)

He likes both tea and coffee. (그는 차와 커피 둘 다 좋아합니다.)

 

2. Either A or B: A 또는 B 중 하나를 의미합니다.

 예문:

You can either call me or send an email. (너는 나에게 전화하거나 이메일을 보낼 수 있어.)

3. Neither A nor B: A와 B 둘 다 아닌 것을 의미합니다.

 예문:

Neither the manager nor the employees knew about the changes. (매니저와 직원 모두 그 변경 사항에 대해 몰랐습니다.)

Neither rain nor snow can stop us. (비도 눈도 우리를 멈출 수 없다.)

She wants neither fame nor fortune. (그녀는 명성도 재산도 원하지 않는다.)

 

4. Not only A but also B: A뿐만 아니라 B도 의미합니다.

 예문:

She is not only intelligent but also hardworking. (그녀는 지능적일 뿐만 아니라 열심히 일합니다.)

He is not only a teacher but also a writer. (그는 교사일 뿐만 아니라 작가이기도 합니다.)

Not only did they win, but they also set a record. (그들은 이겼을 뿐만 아니라 기록도 세웠다.)

 

5. Not A but B: A가 아니라 B라는 의미입니다.

 예문:
